Nuru (Swahili for "light") is a pioneering Congolese company developing solar hybrid mini-grids across the Democratic Republic of Congo. Founded in 2015 as Kivu Green Energy, Nuru deployed Congo's first solar-based mini-grid in 2017 and today operates the largest off-grid mini-grid in sub-Saharan Africa — a 1.3 MW hybrid site in Goma. Our network extends to Beni, Tadu, and Faradje in the Oriental Province.

  1. ABOUT THE  ROLE?

We are seeking a Cloud Services Manager to oversee two critical pillars of our digital operations: Salesforce Ecosystem Management and Electrical Smart Metering Platforms.


How this role works: Our team operates on a Primary Owner / Deputy model. Based on your background, you will take Primary Technical Ownership of one domain and act as the Secondary/Deputy Support for the other domain. An existing team member will hold the reciprocal arrangement, ensuring full operational coverage, cross-training, and continuous system uptime

Key Responsibilities

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  2. System Maintenance & Operational Health 

  • Maintain high availability, operational health, and monitoring for both cloud domains:

    • Salesforce: Perform routine administration, environment cleanups, release management, user setups, object model and Apex maintenance.

    • Smart Meter Platforms: Oversee and maintain platforms such as SteamaCo, SparkMeter, and upcoming grid management services.

  • Serve as the technical primary for one domain and backup/escalation for the other during coverage periods (vacations, on-call support).

  1. Technical Support & Internal Enablement

  • Act as the escalation point for internal users across business units regarding system issues, data anomalies, and access management.

  • Troubleshoot complex technical tickets, data syncing errors, or API outages across both platforms.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user training guides.

  1. System Development & Feature Enhancement 

  • Salesforce Development: Write, test, and deploy custom Apex code, triggers, batch jobs, and workflows/flows to automate business processes.

  • Smart Meter Enhancements: Adopt system configuration to deal with increasing load, implement new vendor APIs/protocols, and optimize data collection workflows, add new sites.

  • Partner with department heads to translate business requirements into functional cloud solutions and technical specifications.

All Candidates Must Have

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Web and Mobile Development, Computer Engineering, Systems and Networks, or a related field

  • Experience Level: 2–6+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise cloud platforms or SaaS ecosystems (Mid to Senior level).

  •  Technical Depth in ONE of the following core areas:

  • Option A (Salesforce): Proven experience in Salesforce Administration and custom Apex development (Apex triggers, classes, asynchronous processing, SOQL/SOSL).

  • Option B (Smart Meter / IoT): Direct experience configuring and maintaining smart grid or utility platforms (e.g., SteamaCo, SparkMeter, or similar solutions) along with strong API integration background.

  • Willingness to Cross-Train: Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to learn and act as secondary administrator/developer for the alternate domain.

  • Integration & Data: Experience working with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML data formats, and database management.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • Excellent written communication skills in English and in French ;

  • Ability to work remotely with little or no direct supervision

  • CRM & Automation: Salesforce (platform, Apex, Flows)

  • IoT & Utility Platforms: SteamaCo, SparkMeter, custom API connectors

  • Data & Integration: REST/SOAP APIs, SQL/SOQL
